Insect Lab

I don't know whether this is good or bad (bad, from an i-love-dragonflies point of view). But it sure is fascinating.

Here's an excerpt from the homepage -
Insect Lab is an artist operated studio that customizes real insects with antique watch parts and electronic components. Offering a variety of specimens that come in many shapes, sizes and colors; each specimen is individually designed and hand- assembled, each is one of a kind and unique.Borrowing from both science fiction and science fact, Insect Lab's customized insects are a celebration of natural and manmade function. Specimens are presented in either custom made black shadow boxes or glass bell jars, allowing for display anywhere.

ten minute id

those sites that keep asking you for your email id and then say they'll email you the confirmation and then click on that and then go back to log on to the site and later spam you with nonsense?
here's the solution - http://www.10minutemail.com/10MinuteMail/index.html.
"Welcome to 10 Minute Mail.By clicking on the link below, you will be given a temporary e-mail address. Any e-mails sent to that address will show up automatically on the web page. You can read them, click on links, and even reply to them. The e-mail address will expire after 10 minutes. Why would you use this? Maybe you want to sign up for a site which requires that you provide an e-mail address to send a validation e-mail to. And maybe you don't want to give up your real e-mail address and end up on a bunch of spam lists. This is nice and disposable. And it's free. Enjoy!"

The chap who's put up this site, has noticed that our typical alphabet charts are going way too politically correct. So he's gone right ahead and designed an impolitically correct alphabet chart. it's nice to look at. and hey, you can even show one or two to your kids!

I spent quite a while plonking on this one before posting it up for you.
Here's how it works - The right hand side has the chords and the notes in tiny coloured boxes. You drag these boxes into the big box on the left and these little notes keep bouncing around and creating beautiful tinkly music.

the population - pixel by pixel

the future password

http://labs.mininova.org/passclicks/
Currently what we do is feed in words as our passwords. The future assumes us dumber and more dependent on technology and has devised visual passwords. Click here for an example of how it will work. Your kids'll probably use it. So it's wiser we read this now and go 'ho-hum' later.
